Apple New iPad debuts in China, in a minimalist manner

Apple organized a low-key release of the new iPad in China on Friday; free from the frenzied scenes that affected the technology major's earlier product appearances in the promising Chinese market.

The peaceful, systematic queues in Shanghai & Beijing surprised many Apple patrons in the country, who are accustomed to standing overnight in meandering lines with scalpers to lay their hands on the newest goods from the house of the Cupertino-based company.

The release of the newest iPad, which sports a superb screen & an improved snapper than the earlier editions of the outrageously popular slate, arrives weeks after the American multinational paid $60million to a Shenzhen-based business to resolve a trademark charge over the iPad name.

Apple has taken up an online reservation scheme that permitted it to manage the flow of consumers to its stores & shun a repeat of the violent iPhone 4S release in January, when one store in Beijing was showered with eggs by scalpers.

The Cupertino-based mobile phone manufacturer has two official stores in Beijing, one in Hong Kong, three in Shanghai, & several certified resellers. Chinese government officials stated that Apple wishes to start two more stores in the prominent cities of Chengdu & Shenzhen.

Demand for goods from Apple’s kitty is so elevated that several users purchase them from unauthorized resellers who sell smuggled gadgets or from online stores that vend similar imports.

China is a major growth market for the company, & Chief Executive Tim Cook has frequently stated that the company has huge expectations from this market.
